Palm Oil Trade Fair & Seminar (POTS), has evolved into one of the most important marketing and promotional tool on a global basis. POTS is the brainchild of MPOC CEO Tan Sri Dr. Yusof Basiron . After the maiden edition held in Kuala Lumpur in 2006, it has been followed up by a series of similar events organized in China, Pakistan, UAE, Africa to name a few. The tremendous success of all these events has highlighted the necessity to organize it in all the major markets for palm oil. Malaysia-India POTS 2008, a comprehensive platform for manufacturers, importers, logistics, surveyors, bankers, machinery suppliers, packers, chemicals & other raw material suppliers, institutional users like snack food, fast food, ready to eat food, retailers, distributors, and end consumers- A wide spectrum of industry displaying the best of Malaysian & Indian trade and technology. At a time when regional trade is expanding rapidly in different parts of the world. Malaysia-India are yet to forge a mechanism for the purpose. Malaysia - India have a great potential to emerge into a very strong and stable market, but the steps taken in this area are insufficient. MPOC endeavors to adopt and create international awareness about the Malaysian Palm Oil industry and innovation taking place across various business sectors. Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector will witness more than 50 per cent growth in rural and semi-urban India by 2010, according to an analysis carried out by the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (Assocham). In totality, it is projected to grow at a CAGR (compounded annual growth rate) of 10 per cent and increase its market size to Rs 100,000 crore ( US$ 25 billion) from the present level of Rs 48,000 crore ( US$ 12 billion). Indian food processing industry holds a promise for a speedy growth. Factors such as changing food consumption patterns, increased spending on value-added food products spurred by increases in income levels, increasing numbers of women joining the workforce, rapid urbanization, changing lifestyles, and mass media promotion are fueling this growth. In recent years there been a marked shift among consumers for packaged food items in India. Hence there is a vast untapped potential in this sector and with POTS, the below mentioned objectives will be strived for achievement. Objective :

A two day event comprising of exhibition and seminar inviting participation from the oils & fats industry of India & Sri Lanka and Malaysian suppliers of PO. A press conference will be held on the eve of the POTS, to create a greater awareness of the event. And gain better mileage for the event.
